Well here we are ....the last night in Morgan County. We had a very successful week.
Whether we were able to completely finish a job or make serious headway....we all feel that we accomplished a lot in helping the people in the area.
These same people also gave us inspiration ! They were so grateful to have us in their homes and we were so grateful to be here.
After our work day ended today, our ASP leaders grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for us all followed by a game of whip cream catching ( impossible to explain) but CHT kids OWNED it and Jack and Wrenn won the contest!! So proud!
Our team decided to stay here at camp instead of joining the other groups for fire works in Kingston.
The kids took time to hang out with each other, playing spoons , basketball, and just sitting around laughing !!! It is a beautiful sight to see your children spending time like this together. The bonus of having a small group this year was that they all really got to know one another! They have strengthened old friendships and built new ones! A special shout out to our CHiTheads on the trip... Sasha and Madi!!! They were amazing !! Great peer leaders and all around spectacular young women!
I have known both of them since they were small and it fills my heart to see how strong their friendship is and how they have grown over the last 4 years ! Kind, thoughtful, helpful, smart, engaging and loving are just a few of the words I can use to describe them!
They happily helped me with anything I asked of them on the trip and took the initiative to be real leaders!
Finally a THANK YOU to my wonderful chaperones, Sue , Susan, Barry, Mark, Deb, Matt, and JC!!!
These trips would not be possible without the unbelievable commitment of these 7 adults that are the parents to your kids on the mission trip.
They are my dear friends and I am  so grateful for all they do!
See you Saturday! Tons of photos below!
